GK Streak Design Guide: KUN Dynamic and Micro-Planar Tweeter

GK Streak is described in GK product material as a KUN dynamic driver paired with an independent micro-planar tweeter. This is a product-design overview, not a hands-on listening review. The previous account converted design language into claims of audible superiority and a documented three-month development process that we cannot substantiate.
GK Streak
The current catalog lists 32Ω impedance, 111dB sensitivity and a detachable 0.78mm two-pin cable. The sensitivity reference is not given, so it must not be silently treated as dB/mW or compared with KUNTEN's 109dB/mW. Confirm the exact connector and microphone cable at purchase. The earlier 14.2mm tweeter, 3kHz crossover and bundled USB-C adapter details are not established by the available Streak source.
Moving-coil operation
A moving-coil dynamic driver converts current into force in a magnetic gap. The coil moves a diaphragm, which changes air pressure. Diaphragm area, mass, stiffness, suspension, magnetic field, enclosure and damping all affect its response; a material name alone cannot predict bass quality or transient behavior.
Balanced-armature operation
A balanced armature moves within a magnetic system and transfers motion to a diaphragm through a drive rod. It does not produce sound by striking the diaphragm. BA units can be designed for bass, midrange or treble, and their bores and acoustic damping affect the result. Neither metallic timbre nor a fixed bass roll-off is inherent to every BA.
Distributed force and its limits
A planar magnetic driver distributes electromagnetic force through conductive traces on a diaphragm. Force distribution differs from a conventional moving coil, but depends on trace layout and magnetic geometry. Membrane tension, damping and acoustic loading still allow resonances and nonuniform motion; planar construction does not guarantee zero breakup, faster transients or lower distortion.
Matching the source
Source matching requires impedance, sensitivity with its reference unit, available voltage and current, output impedance and noise. A phone's USB-C port does not establish its analog output quality: with a digital adapter the adapter contains the DAC and amplifier. Start at low volume and check the exact cable, microphone and device compatibility.
Listening comparison
For a useful audition, compare a familiar vocal passage, a bass line with changing notes and cymbals with natural decay at matched comfortable levels. First check a stable seal and use the same source and EQ state. Describe what you hear as your own preference; a quieter treble peak or a different tip can change perceived detail without demonstrating a superior transducer.
