Supply chain and price

A component supply chain can affect tooling access, minimum orders, lead time and unit cost. Those are plausible economic mechanisms, not an audited cost breakdown for GK. The former six-figure Western tooling comparison, single-digit Chinese cost and accounts of engineers' previous employers had no attributable evidence and have been removed.

Materials without origin myths

Diaphragm material, coating and motor design offer different combinations of mass, stiffness and damping. A coating name is not evidence of where the technology originated, and neither DLC nor LCP guarantees lower distortion in a completed earphone. We cannot establish national priority for these materials from the sources held for this article.

Measurements and competition

Public graphs can make a specification claim easier to examine, but an accessible graph is not a market-wide ranking. Compare the same model revision on a compatible fixture and keep in-ear and over-ear targets separate. The previous claim that Chinese brands dominated a 2020 measurement ranking, including GK, was not linked to a recoverable dataset and is withdrawn.

Choosing across brands

For a buyer, wider availability matters only if the exact model, landed price, seller, warranty and return route fit the purchase. Compare a Chinese IEM and an established brand using the same requirements: connector, repairable parts, fit, useful features and identified acoustic evidence. Neither the brand's age nor the country of manufacture decides the result.
